The Genuine Miele 9160460 Round Push Button Repair Kit is used to repair the length-adjustment button on the Miele SET220 electric telescopic wand.

What Does the SET220 Push Button Do?

The Miele SET220 is a length-adjustable electric telescopic wand. The round button releases the wand's locking mechanism so the inner and outer wand sections can slide to adjust the overall length.

If the button becomes broken, worn, stuck or comes apart, the wand may become difficult or impossible to adjust.

SET220 vs. SET210

This push button is intended for the SET220 wand and should not be confused with the button used on the older Miele SET210 electric wand.

Important – Inspect the Internal Locking Mechanism

This kit will not repair every SET220 wand adjustment problem.

If internal components of the telescopic locking mechanism are broken, replacing the external button assembly may not correct the problem. Inspect the wand mechanism before ordering if the cause of the failure is uncertain.

If the round adjustment button has popped out of an SET220 wand, don't automatically assume the entire electric wand needs replacement. Check the button, spring, casing and retaining components first.

If those components are damaged but the telescoping and locking mechanism inside the wand is still intact, the Miele 9160460 repair kit may restore normal wand adjustment at considerably less cost than replacing the complete electric wand.
