Hair wraps around roller

I had an Oreck XL for 10 plus yrs, loved it. The guy at the store convinced me to try the new version..this model they are advertising. I tried it for 3 months..took it in, told them hair wraps around roller. Their solution was to have me cut the hair out and then the vacuum would magically suck it back in and get rid of it. Every time I vacuum, I have to clean hair out of roller. I took it back after 6+ months and the guy told me they couldn't help me..but I could buy a new one! Well, Oreck, you just lost a customer. I will never buy another Oreck. The design is poor and I don't think I should have to cut hair off the roller every time I vacuum..not when you pay $ 500.

Simply the BEST

I bought this vacuum to replace the common bagless, I was tired of the dust clouds when emptying the dust cup. I felt like I would lose suction either way due to the expensive filters always clogging and needed to be washed or replaced, it just wasn't worth the headache. I put my Oreck against the ultimate test when I purchased it, I vacuumed the master bedroom with the Oreck first, the carpet looked beautiful and well groomed, then decided to go over it one more time with my bagless which is less than a year old and from a well regarded brand, would you believe it- the dust cup was EMPTY. The Oreck picked everything up. #OreckForever

Nice vacuum

This is my 2nd Oreck vacuum . The quality is great! My 1st Oreck was a commercial model and lasted over 10 years. I loved that it fit under all of my furniture, including my couches. It still works, but the suction is not as good as it used to be. The new Oreck is not the commercial model. The suction is just as good as my 1st Oreck, in it's prime, but this model does not fit under my couches like the old Oreck. The head is not flat like the commercial model and that prevents it from going under the couch. Overall, we are still satisfied with our purchase.

I have had an Oreck vacuum for years and have been very satisfied. We recently installed new carpet and given that investment decided to purchase a new vacuum as well. I bought this vacuum a few months ago. Overall happy. Appreciate the features of it being light weight and the addition of the light especially. Am concerned that it is now louder when in use. Still seems to have good suction--but am concerned there may be a defect. I live in rural MN and distance to an Oreck service provider is limited. Would like assistance to assure the vacuum is OK.

5 stars if it still went under beds

I am replacing my 11 yr old Orek XL that served me well all these years. This new one is self propelled, which takes a little getting used to, it can easily take off on you if you aren't holding tight. Other than that, it is very light, still sucks up dirt and hair well, the only drawback versus my old model is this new one does not lay flat and thus won't go under low spaces. Too bad, as that was a handy feature for getting under beds and furniture, I can't believe when designing a new product this is a feature you decide to eliminate!

Love it!

This is my second Oreck. I had the Oreck XL for years and the dual position switch quit. We had moved into a new home with no carpet, so I thought I could get away with a basic vacuum. Boy, was I wrong! I'm so happy with my new Oreck. I'll never own anything else. The only con is that the new design doesn't go as flat to get under things as the old XL.

Very lightweight

I received my vacuum about two weeks ago. Its very lightweight to carry around. I find it difficult to move the switch from hardwood floors to carpet. I think it needs a light on the switch to tell you what speed your in. The cord is very long and can move from room to room easily. This is my third Oreck and I'm hoping it will last longer than my last one.

I actually want to vacuum now!

I bought my Elite Command over the 4th of July weekend. And I LOVE it!! not only does it sweep very well it gets dirt up from my carpet I didn't even know I had. My mother in law turned me on to Oreck and let me tell you.. I am not disappointed. This little vacuum has the power and my floors actually fell clean afterwards unlike manually sweeping with a broom, I actually want to vacuum now. if your looking for a good vacuum this is it! A good buy!
